Sometimes we need to make the odd change to our schedule, for anything from engineering works to alcohol-free trains on match days. You can check if anything might affect your travel plans here.

Today's timetable changes Sunday 08 December

No trains on Wednesday 25 December - Christmas Day

As in previous years, we will not be running any trains on Christmas Day.

These changes are reflected in the timetables when planning your journey or booking your ticket using the online booking engine.

No trains on Thursday 26 December - Boxing Day

As in previous years, we will not be running any trains on Boxing Day.

Friday 27 December reduced LNER train service until 14.00.

There will be a reduced train service until 14.00 to and from London King’s Cross due to Network Rail upgrade work. Trains are expected to be very busy, we recommend reserving a seat. 

There are also no direct LNER trains to Lincoln on this day.

Additional services to and from Lincoln on Sunday 8 December

We’ll be running extra services between London King’s Cross and Lincoln throughout the day for passengers visiting the Lincoln Christmas Market.

Buses replace trains between Dunblane and Perth on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December

Track work is taking place between Dunblane and Perth, closing all lines on Saturday and Sunday.

LNER:

Services between London Kings Cross and Inverness will be diverted between Edinburgh and Perth, and will not call at Gleneagles, Dunblane, Stirling or Falkirk Grahamston. Replacement buses will run between Perth and Falkirk Grahamston, and also between Edinburgh and Gleneagles.

ScotRail:

Services that run between Glasgow Queen Street and Dundee / Aberdeen / Inverness will be amended to run between Perth and Dundee / Aberdeen / Inverness.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Glasgow Queen Street and Perth (direct).
  • Stirling and Perth (all stations).

The trains that normally run between Edinburgh and Dunblane are not affected by this engineering work.

Amended service between Doncaster and Peterborough from 20:30 Saturday 7 until 12:00 Sunday 8 December

Engineering work is taking place between Doncaster and Grantham, closing some lines.

Grand Central

On Saturday, the 19:57 London Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange will be slightly retimed into Doncaster.

On Sunday, the 08:10 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross will be diverted from Doncaster via Lincoln to London Kings Cross. The 11:50 London Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange will run later from London Kings Cross and retimed throughout. 

Hull Trains

Hull Trains will be running the last Northbound service on Saturday and the first Southbound service on Sunday via Lincoln. 

LNER

From 20:25 on Saturday until 12:00 on Sunday, trains will be amended to run on an alternative route between Doncaster and Peterborough. 

Some trains will start / terminate at Doncaster.
