Sometimes we need to make the odd change to our schedule, for anything from engineering works to alcohol-free trains on match days. You can check if anything might affect your travel plans here.

Today's timetable changes Monday 24 September

Amended London North Eastern Railway services from Wednesday 22 August until Saturday 8 December

In order to improve reliability, London North Eastern Railway (LNER) will run an amended timetable from Wednesday 22 August onwards.

A small number of services between London King's Cross and Leeds will be temporarily removed from the timetable from 13 August 2018 onwards. In addition, one service between Stirling and Edinburgh will also be temporarily cancelled from 27 August 2018.

The following amendments will apply:

Monday to Friday:

  • The 05:26 Stirling to London Kings Cross service will start from Edinburgh from Monday 27 August onwards.
  • The 09:03 London Kings Cross to Leeds service will not run.
  • The 11:45 Leeds to London Kings Cross service will not run.
  • The 15:00 London Kings Cross to Stirling service will terminate at Edinburgh from Monday 27 August onwards.
  • The 15:03 London Kings Cross to Leeds service will not run.
  • The 17:45 Leeds to London Kings Cross service will not run.

Saturday:

  • The 09:03 London Kings Cross to Leeds service will not run.
  • The 11:45 Leeds to London Kings Cross service will not run.
  • The 15:03 London Kings Cross to Leeds service will not run.
  • The 17:45 Leeds to London Kings Cross service will not run.

Sunday:

  • The 13:33 London Kings Cross to Leeds service will not run.
  • The 16:04 Newcastle to London Kings Cross service will be retimed at Doncaster.
  • The 17:16 Leeds to London Kings Cross service will not run.

The cancellations and amendments are due to operational changes which will help to improve overall reliability along LNER's East Coast route in the event of further network-led disruption.

Booked to travel on one of these trains?

If you're booked to travel on one of the affected trains, please travel on an earlier or later LNER train on the same day - your ticket will be valid.

For journeys from Monday to Friday, you can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner

For journeys on Saturday and Sundays, you can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner up until Sunday 16 September. For journeys after this date, please check back nearer to the time of travel.

07.06 LNER service from London King's Cross to call at Huntingdon

On Mondays to Fridays between 16 and 24 July and from 4 September to 7 December, the 07.06 LNER service from London King's Cross to York will call additionally at Huntingdon at 07.48.

Amended evening / morning services between York and Newcastle on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 September

Engineering work is taking place between York and Newcastle overnight, closing some lines.

Sunday:

The 22:00 London Kings Cross to Newcastle service will terminate at York. A replacement bus will run from York to Newcastle via Northallerton, Darlington and Durham.

Monday:

The 04:44 Newcastle to London Kings Cross service will start from York, starting at 05:59.

These changes are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, please check back nearer to the time of travel.

Bicycles:

Non folding bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time. Folding bicycles are allowed if fully folded. For more information, please see here.
