What does the Perks 5th Birthday campaign include?
What does the Perks 5th Birthday campaign include?
To celebrate the 5th birthday of LNER Perks, eligible members will be invited via email or the LNER App to claim a special birthday gift through a fun, ‘tap to reveal’ experience. Depending on your Perks activity, this could be bonus Perks credit to use on a future journey, or entries into our Perks 5th Birthday competition. All eligible members will receive a gift of some kind.

This campaign is open to existing LNER Perks members who joined before 31 March 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria set out in the campaign terms and conditions. If you joined Perks after this date, you won’t receive a birthday gift, but you can still enjoy our special birthday partnerships in the LNER App and receive a competition entry.

If your birthday gift includes Perks credit, it will usually be added to your account within 72 hours of successfully claiming your gift via the campaign page.

If it’s been more than 72 hours since you claimed your gift and your credit hasn’t appeared, please contact Customer Services. To help us investigate quickly, make sure you’re contacting us using the same email address that’s linked to your Perks account. Our team will then look into this for you. Our customer service centre number is 03457 225 333 or you can also contact us by email on customers@lner.co.uk.

You can join LNER Perks by visiting LNER.co.uk/perks or by downloading our LNER mobile app. You’ll need to sign into your LNER account or create a new one, then click to join LNER Perks.

When you join, the £5 joining credit will automatically be added to your LNER Perks credit balance.
I’ve already made a booking, can I still join LNER Perks and get my 2% earned credit?
I’ve already made a booking, can I still join LNER Perks and get my 2% earned credit?
Yes, if you’ve already booked your tickets, you can earn the 2% credit if you join the LNER Perks loyalty scheme within 48 hours of purchasing your tickets. All you need to do is create an LNER account and join LNER Perks.

Yes, you can benefit from LNER Perks if you’re a Season Ticket holder, based on the following:
Season Tickets must be purchased through LNER.co.uk (desktop website and mobile website) or the LNER mobile app
The Season Tickets meets the following qualifying criteria:
The Season Ticket is a weekly, monthly or annual ticket
The journey covered by the Season Ticket is made between qualifying starting and destination stations and is ‘Route: Any Permitted’. See the eligible routes here
The Season Ticket is a full price adult ticket (excludes Child tickets)

Can I still get the 2% earned credit if I don’t book direct with LNER?
Yes, if you’re on our trains, you can earn 2% credit. You’ll need to download our LNER mobile app, join LNER Perks and follow the process for importing your ticket, using your barcode or ticket collection reference. You’ll be able import your journey using an eTicket, using your ticket collection reference if you collected at the station, or using the barcode on a paper roll ticket.
You can import tickets provided you meet the following criteria:
You must be a member of LNER PERKS at the point that ticket is added
Be valid for travel on a LNER train (whether for the whole journey or just part of it)
Have a travel date no more than 7 days prior to the date of the ticket being added to LNER PERKS
Not have been previously added to the scheme
Not have been sold online through lner.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app
Not have been refunded
You must have made a seat reservation for the ticket at the point of booking
You must not have previously added more than one other ticket with the same travel date
You must not have added more than 15 tickets in the last 7 days
You must not have added tickets with a combined cost of over £1,000 in the last 7 days

All LNER journeys are eligible for the earned credit, whether you’re travelling on LNER for all or part of your journey.
Can I gift my LNER Perks credit to someone else?
Can I gift my LNER Perks credit to someone else?
Yes, you can gift your LNER Perks earned credit to friends or family by changing your credit into an eVoucher. You’ll need to have a minimum of £10 earned credit to be able to buy a gift eVoucher with your Perks credit and you can only spend this eVoucher on the LNER mobile App.

You can spend your 2% earned credit on LNER Advance train tickets booked directly with LNER.
What can I spend my £5 joining credit on?
What can I spend my £5 joining credit on?
You can spend your £5 joining credit as part payment for LNER Advance train tickets when booking through LNER against purchases of £5.15 and over.
You cannot donate your £5 joining credit to one of our charity partners, and you cannot use your £5 joining credit to buy a gift eVoucher for friends or family.
