Station improvements
Following a multi-million pound improvement scheme, the new station building will be open from Sunday 17 May. For a smooth journey, we recommend:
Allowing extra time - The station may feel different at first, so please give yourself a few extra minutes to get your bearings and find your way around.
Checking your platform before you travel - Some services may now depart from different platforms, including the new Platforms 5 and 6, which are a 5-10 minute walk from all entrances.
Using lifts when travelling with luggage – Use the lifts if you have large or heavy bags, rather than the escalators.
Taking care on the escalators – Hold the handrail, keep children close and carry pets. For your safety and comfort, please don’t take large or heavy items of luggage, luggage trolleys, wheelchairs or bicycles on the escalators.
