LNER Azuma Gresley 150 at Doncaster Station

Gresley 150

Launched: 19 June 2026

Created to mark the 150th anniversary of Sir Nigel Gresley's birth, the ‘Gresley 150’ Azuma livery celebrates the legendary engineer's influence on LNER through three defining elements: his iconic A4 locomotives, original locomotive blueprints, and the famous Garter Blue colour synonymous with innovation and performance.

National Railway Museum 50 Years

Launched: 8 July 2025

Created to celebrate the National Railway Museum's 50th anniversary, this special Class 91 livery honours five decades of preserving Britain's railway heritage. Blending LNER and NRM branding, it features a colourful ribbon and iconic exhibits, symbolising partnership, discovery and inspiration for future generations.

Darlington

Train: Azuma 801207
Launched: 14 January 2025

Created to mark Railway 200 (200 years of the modern railway), the ‘Darlington’ Azuma livery celebrates the town's pivotal role in railway history and the legacy of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Its distinctive 'orangeprint' design weaves together historic locomotives, landmarks and innovations that shaped rail travel, and the city itself.

Our Planet

Created to celebrate sustainable rail travel and LNER's environmental commitments, the ‘Our Planet’ Azuma livery highlights the benefits of choosing rail over higher-carbon transport. Applied using a partially bio-based material, it also showcases innovation in reducing the environmental impact of train branding.

You Belong

Launched: 6 October 2023

Created to celebrate five years of partnership between LNER and suicide prevention charity CALM, the ‘You Belong’ Azuma livery promotes the importance of connection, support and belonging. Carrying a life-saving message across the network, it helps raise awareness that nobody should face struggles alone.

Created to celebrate Pride and LNER's commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, the ‘Together’ Azuma livery champions unity across LGBTQIA+ communities and allies. Featuring multiple Pride flags across every carriage, it symbolises visibility, solidarity and the belief that everyone belongs.
