      Let’s make the most of your time off

      With a bit of planning, you can turn 26 days of annual leave into 56 days off from work to explore the UK with your loved ones. And with LNER travelling to so many amazing place you can visit, you’re spoilt for choice.

      Enjoy a 16-day break by taking just eight days off. Book your leave from Monday, April 14 to Thursday, April 17, and again from Tuesday, April 22 to Friday, April 25.

      Number of Bank Holidays: 2 days (Friday 18 March and Monday 21 April).

      Number of days to take off: 8 days

      Total days off work: 16 days

      May Bank Holiday Trains

      Take 4 days off from Tuesday, May 6 to Friday, May 9 for a 9 day break from Saturday, May 3 to Sunday, May 11. Then, take another 4 days off from Tuesday, May 27 to Friday, May 30 for an additional 9 day break from Saturday, May 24 to Sunday, June 1.

      Number of Bank Holidays: 2 days (Monday 5 and Monday 26 May)

      Number of days to take off: 4 days/4 days

      Total days off work: 9 days/9 days

      August Bank Holiday getaways

      To maximize your Bank Holiday Monday on 25 August, take the rest of the week off by booking 4 days of annual leave (Tuesday 26 August to Friday 29 August). This way, you'll enjoy a total of 9 consecutive days off, from Saturday 23 August to Sunday 31 August.

      Number of Bank Holidays: 1 day (Monday 25 August)

      Number of days to take off: 4 days

      Total days off work: 9 days

      Christmas Bank Holidays

      To get an extended break over the Christmas period, book 6 days of annual leave (Monday 22 December to Wednesday 24 December, and Monday 29 December to Wednesday 31 December). This way, you'll enjoy 13 consecutive days off, from Saturday 20 December 2025 to Thursday 1 January 2026.

      Number of Bank Holidays: 2 days (Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 December)

      Number of days to take off: 6 days

      Total days off work: 13 days
