Closure of long stay car park 15 March 2025
From 23:59 Friday 14 March, the station long stay car park will be closed until further notice. This is part of the York Station Gateway Project, where Network Rail will construct a new multi-storey car park on the site.
Parking for blue badge holders will be unaffected. All other users must find alternative facilities and allow extra time for travel. For other locations visit York.gov.uk/CarParks.

This welcoming new space will help keep the little ones entertained while you wait for your train. The lounge features a play area inspired by the city’s historic walls, beach huts with tabletop games, soft flooring and more.
There is plenty of space for parents and carers to sit back and relax as well as a comfortable area for breastfeeding.
The Family Lounge is located on the main concourse, opposite WHSmith. Please note that children must always be accompanied by an adult in our family lounges.
