LNER Tickets On Sale For Christmas Travel

Hundreds of thousands of tickets are on sale for travel with LNER over the Christmas and New Year period from today, Thursday 19th September 2024.

Customers can now plan their travel for the festive period, with tickets being released for many journeys between Friday 20th December 2024 and Friday 3rd January 2025.

David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “We know this is a special time for many people. Each year we look forward to welcoming customers who travel with us over the Christmas period, be it going to see loved ones or exploring the wonderful markets and events on our route.

“We’re delighted to place hundreds of thousands of tickets on sale to help customers to book in advance for the best value fares.”

Traditionally journeys between London King’s Cross, Yorkshire, Newcastle and Scotland are most popular.

The best value LNER fares are available when booked direct on the LNER website or app. There is no booking fee, customers can select their preferred seat and receive live journey alerts both on their mobile and through a special QR code they can scan onboard.  More than a million people have already signed up for LNER’s loyalty scheme, LNER Perks. New members will receive £5 instant credit when joining and enjoy a further 2 per cent credit on all future LNER purchases, plus special offers and competitions.

Once onboard, customers can enjoy complimentary refreshments specially sourced from local suppliers in both First and Standard, where the ‘Let’s Eat at Your Seat’ service delivers delicious snacks direct to people’s seats.
