As the festive season approaches, many travellers are looking for destinations that truly capture the seasonal spirit, offering everything from Christmas markets to carol events and holiday displays.
The research, commissioned by LNER, analysed a range of factors to determine the UK’s most festive cities, including the likelihood of a white Christmas, the number of carol events, Christmas light switch-on dates, popular seasonal search trends, and the duration of local Christmas markets. This data was then weighted against the population size to give each city a final score out of 100.
