LNER Launches Yorkshire Personality Quiz to Celebrate Yorkshire Day

To mark Yorkshire Day on Friday 1st August, LNER has launched an interactive Yorkshire Personality Quiz designed to match its customers with their ideal Yorkshire destination.

Built around the idea that every customer has their own style, whether reflective, adventurous, or indulgent, the quiz pairs personality traits with one of six Yorkshire locations, each offering its own unique charm and character.

Through ten lifestyle-led questions exploring favourite meals, Sunday pastimes, music tastes, and scenic preferences, the quiz helps travellers discover a destination that reflects their travel style. The featured cities, including York, Bradford, Harrogate, Leeds and Hull, are each paired with one of six personality types: the Comfort Seeker, the Urban Explorer, the Romantic Rambler, the Cultural Creative, the Adventurer and the Timeless Wanderer. Together, they showcase the rich variety of experiences Yorkshire has to offer.

Among the featured destinations, York stands out for its rich history and serene beauty. From Roman roots to Viking tales, it offers storytelling at every turn, with iconic landmarks, winding lanes, and centuries-old architecture setting the scene for a meaningful travel experience.

Bradford offers a mix of heritage and innovation. As the UK’s City of Culture 2025, it brings together world-class museums, vibrant neighbourhoods and global cuisines. Its creative energy and cultural layers make it a rewarding destination for those eager to explore beyond the obvious. With new and more frequent LNER services between London King’s Cross and Bradford Forster Square, including earlier weekday arrivals and trains running every two hours, it’s now easier than ever for visitors to enjoy a full day in the city.

The quiz also features Harrogate, Leeds, and Hull, each offering a unique side of Yorkshire, from spa-town elegance to industrial heritage, all viewed through a personal lens.

David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “We know people are looking for more than just places to visit – they want travel to feel personal and meaningful. The Yorkshire Personality Quiz is a fun way to explore the region through your preferences and discover destinations that resonate.”

“Whether it’s the timeless beauty of York, the cultural richness of Bradford, or the urban energy of Leeds, Yorkshire has something for everyone. This campaign celebrates its diversity and encourages people to experience more of it, in ways that feel just right for them.”
