CORONAVIRUS - Safe Travel Advice
Various National Rail routes.
Train companies have introduced extra services to support the start of the academic year, allow us to meet increased demand and help with social distancing. Details of the uplifted timetables are available via the Train Operating Company links towards the bottom of this page.
Despite these changes, social distancing means there will still be reduced capacity on trains. Please follow the advice given by your train operator regarding planning your journey. You also need to follow the latest advice from government and public health officials.
If you need to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt).
Please also follow the recommended guidance before you set off:
- Plan ahead and consider travelling at quieter times
- Carry hand sanitiser and wash your hands before and after travelling
- Follow social distancing guidance at stations, on platforms and on trains
- Do not travel if you or anyone in your household are showing symptoms of Covid-19

Some waiting rooms at stations remain closed for public safety. Some Ticket Offices also remain closed or have reduced opening times. Times on the station information pages may not match up to the current opening times.
