Amended weekday Off-Peak timetable on some Southeastern routes until Friday 13 December

50 million leaves fall on to train tracks every autumn. When mixed with rain and squashed by train wheels, they form a slippery layer on the rails like black ice. On days or weeks when rails are most slippery, different timetables need to be introduced on some routes.

Drivers need more time to stop and start the trains as the wheels have less grip on the tracks. These timetable changes allow drivers the extra time they need to drive the trains safely.

Conditions are expected to be at their worst until Friday 13 December. Southeastern will be running a revised midweek Off-Peak metro timetable on these days.
