We’ve created our COVID Aware programme to provide reassurance to our customers and teams that LNER will do everything we can to help you travel safely. 

  • Book with confidenceWe’ve made our ticket policy flexible, we’re in this together so we want to ensure that you can always travel safely and with confidence. 
  • Keeping our places and spaces clean. Our staff have increased the cleaning at our stations and onboard, including our toilet facilities which are open. 
  • Keeping you safe. All of our trains are fitted with toilets and these have running water, soap and hand dryers. Plus hand santiser is available onboard and face coverings are available to buy in our stations. 
  • Guidance in stationsWe’ve added signage and floor markers in our stations, as well as clear voice announcements, so everyone can stay safe in our stations. 
  • Seat reservationsWe’ve also created an easy online tool to reserve your seat if you have a Flexible or Season Ticket, this helps us ensure there’s a safe number of customers on each train so that you can comfortably social distance. 

COVID Aware is a reminder to everyone who uses our trains to respect the guidance and act responsibly. Together, we can keep everyone safe when travelling.

Make a seat reservation

If you're traveling with LNER you need a seat reservation. Most tickets come with one as standard, but if you don't have a seat booked you can make one using our free online reservation tool. It's quick, free and easy to do!
