All summer there’ll be amazing events across the Toon, where you can explore the intriguing cityscape of Newcastle and Gateshead. Discover the dynamic story of the North of England – how its innovators, artists and designers have shaped the present and are now inspiring the future - through art exhibition, shows and other events.

Highlights of the Great Exhibition Of The North include:

  • The world’s largest water sculpture on the River Tyne, with an especially composed musical score.
  • Lauren Laverne’s Great Northern Soundtrack, a week of gigs at Sage Gateshead curated by Lauren and showcasing the best in northern music.
  • The world’s biggest shipping container garden at Hillgate Quay, where you can enjoy food and drink as well as live music.
  • And there's a massive exhibition at the Great North Museum.
