The collection of Nectar points on your future LNER bookings ends on 31 July 2020. From 1 August 2020, you will no longer collect Nectar points.
What if I don't have a Nectar card yet, can I still collect points?
Yes, you can register a new Nectar card and collect points on LNER train tickets up until 31 July 2020. To get a new Nectar card head over to Nectar.com and after you register, you'll be able to order one. Make sure you link your new Nectar card to your LNER account, on this website, within 24 hours of buying your LNER train tickets. That way you'll successfully collect the points you earned on your last purchase.
This option isn't available for tickets you buy from our self-service ticket vending machines. With these you can only collect points at the time of purchase.
How do I collect Nectar points on LNER train tickets?
You can collect 2 points for every £1 spent on LNER train tickets up until 31 July 2020, it doesn't matter if the whole journey is with LNER or just part of it. You need to buy your tickets on this site or from our self-service ticket vending machines at our stations. You can enter your Nectar card number within your LNER account or at the time of making your booking on this site. If you're buying your ticket from an LNER self-service ticket vending machine, you will need to insert your Nectar card (it's credit card sized) into the chip and pin device.
What can I collect Nectar points on?
If any part of your journey includes travelling on one of our LNER trains and the booking was made on or before 31 July 2020, it will be eligible for Nectar points. This means you'll receive points on your whole website booking or self-service ticket vending machine purchase, even if only part of it is on an LNER train.
Is there anything that I can't collect Nectar points on?
You will only get Nectar points for journeys booked on this site or purchased at one of our self-service ticket vending machines on or before 31 July 2020, that include an LNER train for at least part of it. You won't collect points on items you buy on the train, such as food and drink from our Let’s Eat Café Bar or trollies.
How long will it take to get my Nectar points?
Nectar points earned on bookings made through the LNER website up to and including 31 July 2020 will be processed within 28 days.
It’s been 28 days and I’ve not received my Nectar points, who do I contact?
If you’re still waiting on your points after 28 days, please contact us here to query any missing points.
Where can I see my Nectar points history on bookings I have made with LNER?
You can see your LNER Nectar points history in your ‘My Account’ area.
What happens if I amend/cancel or refund my booking?
If you ask for a refund on any tickets bought through LNER.co.uk, or at a self-service ticket vending machine, the points you get from the journey will be deducted from your Nectar account within 28 days.
I’ve purchased an annual or monthly season ticket before the close-down was announced, do I still get the points?
Nectar points on season tickets purchased before 7 July 2020 will be awarded in full after we leave the scheme. You can expect your outstanding points in your account within 28 days. Season tickets purchased after 7 July 2020 will be awarded points up until we leave the scheme on 31 July 2020. No points will be awarded after 31 July 2020 for season tickets.
Can I spend my Nectar points on train tickets?
You can continue to spend your Nectar points on LNER eVouchers. You can spend your Nectar points on LNER eVouchers through our website, which will entitle you to a cash amount of LNER credit. You can use the credit as either full or part payment for LNER Advance tickets. Learn more here
Why is Nectar ending?
After 5 years, LNER has decided to leave the Nectar scheme on 31 July 2020. Rest assured we are working on something new for the future. LNER is constantly working to enhance the customer experience with plans for new ways to reward our customers' loyalty. How long is my eVoucher valid for?
If you spent your Nectar points on an LNER eVoucher, your eVoucher is valid for 12 months from the date you spent your Nectar points. Any unspent value on your eVoucher will be stored in your LNER account until you spend it. The amount will expire after 12 months, so if you haven't spent it by then it will be removed for your account.
What can I spend my eVoucher on?
eVouchers will be valid for either full or part payment on LNER Advance tickets, booked through LNER.co.uk.
Do I need an LNER account to spend my eVoucher?
You will need an LNER account before you can spend your eVouchers. If you don't already have one, you can register here
How do I enter my eVoucher code?
You will be able to enter your eVoucher code when booking a ticket through LNER.co.uk. There is an option to redeem a voucher when you reach the ‘Delivery Details’ section of the booking. We recommend copying and pasting the eVoucher code directly into the eVoucher box. eVoucher codes are case sensitive and care should also be taken not to mix up the letter 'I' with the number '1' (one) or the letter 'O' for the number '0' (zero).
