We proudly presented our first ever *Responsible Business Report last year. It shows our starting point, sets the scene and gives us a baseline from which to grow and improve. We will update this report annually to share our journey progress.

Sharing our activities as a responsible business through this report shows our colleagues, our customers and communities that we’re determined to become a better business and that we’re moving forward in our commitment to becoming the most responsible train operating company in the UK by 2025.

Responsible Business Report


We are continually seeking to improve and therefore have chosen to benchmark our performance using the Business in the Community (BiTC) Responsible Business Tracker.

Business in the Community is the oldest and largest business-led membership organisation dedicated to responsible business.

Their role is to inspire, engage and challenge members and to mobilise that collective strength as a force for good in society to:

  • Create a skilled, inclusive workforce today and for the future
  • Build thriving communities in which to live and work
  • Innovate to repair and sustain our planet

By collaborating with this external expertise, we can be sure that our approach is fair, transparent and independently assessed. BiTC are also able to guide us on how we can go further on our Responsible Business journey, learning from other participating brands and looking for opportunities for us to excel in our own sector.
